STM by WSXM

Dear OpenMX developer,

In the example provided in the manual for Graphene_STM, it is mentioned that 'Graphene_STM.pden.cube' is visualized with WSxM software. However, in WSxM input file type, I could not find Gaussian cube format. I was wondering if you could provide more details on the format of input file that is used to visualize Graphene STM image.

Many Thanks,
Lida

Hi,

You can directly read a cube file by WSxM without converting the format, and create
STM type image by choosing 'Process' -> 'Filter' -> 'Create STM image' in the pulltab menu.

Hi TO,

I noticed it is only the 8.2 development version that can read in cube files. It seems older versions of WSxM cannot. However, when I try to open a cube file in the development version I receive an error stating:

A general error has been detected and WSxM cannot continue working properly.
If you are acquiring an image, please try to withdraw the tip from the sample in order to avoid tip damage. Then, restart the application.

Would you have any advice on how to solve this issue?

Regards,

Declan

I don't think so, since I have been able to open cube files and draw the map since more than four years ago.
In my environment, I don't see any erratic behavior.
