How to properly calculate atoms? Date: 2010/05/20 04:21 Name: jlrch   <jlrch2@aol.com> I was trying to calculate the Pt atom using spin polarized and non collinear configurations including spin-orbit coupling. The non collinear configuration converges rather well while the spin polarized calculation never converges. Why is it so?
